Squadron Aerospace Education Officers Wing Staff

Aerospace Education Officer of the Year (information copied from the award application)
Purpose: The Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education Officer of the Year Award is a national-level award established to recognize and reward any Civil Air Patrol member who is dedicated to promoting and teaching aerospace to the members of Civil Air Patrol and to spreading the excitement of aerospace to their communities.
Nomination Guidelines:
- Any Aerospace Education Officer (AEO) in the Squadron, Group, Wing or Region is eligible.
- Eligible nominees must be nominated by a professional or personal reference.
- Nominees will be judged at the wing level, then progress to the region level, and ultimately end at the national level for final selection.
Nominations must be submitted to the Wing DAE by 15 January.
Aerospace Educator of the Year (information copied from the award application)
Purpose: The Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education Teacher of the Year Award is a national-level award established to recognize and reward any Civil Air Patrol member who is a certified K-12 teacher for outstanding accomplishments in Aerospace Education and for possessing those honorable attributes we expect from American teachers.
Nomination Guidelines:
- Any Aerospace Education Member (AEM) or Senior Member of CAP who is a certified K-12 teacher is eligible.
- Eligible teachers may nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.
- Nominees will be judged at the state (CAP Wing) level, then progress to the regional level, and ultimately end at the national level for final selection.
- The winner will be notified the first week of May in order to make plans to attend the CAP Summer National Board and Conference.
Nominations must be submitted to the wing DAE by 15 January.
Brewer Award (information copied from the National CAP Website):
Established 31 Dec 1959, the Brewer awards serve as a memorial to Mr. Frank G. Brewer, Sr. and his lifelong interest in aviation, youth, and education. Recognition is given to individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions, out of selfless devotion, to the advancement of youth in aerospace activities. Nominees are evaluated on CAP program support, significance of accomplishment, community involvement, and support of all facets of the aerospace education mission. Nomination forms are found in CAPP 15, Aerospace Education Officers' Handbook.
This award is presented annually in four categories at both the regional and national level.
The four categories for this award are:
Category I - Civil Air Patrol Cadet Member
Category II - Civil Air Patrol Senior Member
Category III – Individual or Organization outside of Civil Air Patrol
Category IV - Lifetime Achievement
Any member or unit may submit a Brewer nomination for any category. Nominations must be submitted to the wing DAE by 15 January. For more information, see CAPP 15.
